Evening sightseeing cruise or dinner cruise

Yes, you can sail in the evening without dinner. The operator sells no separate evening sightseeing ticket on the pages this guide read, so the evening cruise here means a later sailing of the standard sightseeing cruise, on the same open ticket. The dinner cruise is a separate product that is longer, costs more and needs a booked table.

Is the evening cruise right for you?

Good for

  • An evening on the river without booking a table or dressing for dinner
  • Seeing the Seine from the water in the evening in about an hour, with the planner showing which sailings leave after dark on your date
  • Leaving the choice of sailing to the day, because the ticket is open
  • Keeping the rest of the evening free before or after the cruise

Think twice if

  • You want a meal on board: dinner is a separate cruise with a booked table
  • You need a seat on a named departure: the open ticket does not hold one
  • You want to be at the Tower at an exact sparkle minute: route minutes are not published

Evening departures by date

The operator publishes a sailing rule that changes with the season. The planner applies that rule to your date and shows the last sailings of the day, with the light each one leaves in. Sunset is calculated for the Pont de l'Alma.

Sunset moves by up to about two minutes a day, least near the solstices, so the same boat can look different a week later.

Sunset and dusk are calculated for the Pont de l'Alma (NOAA method, to the minute). Sailings follow the operator's published rule and the Tower's sparkle rule comes from its own site. Earlier boats leave every 30 minutes from 16:00.

Will the Eiffel Tower sparkle on your cruise

The Tower's own site says it lights at dusk, and that it sparkles for five minutes at the start of each hour once night has fallen, until midnight or 1 a.m. depending on the season. A sailing that is on the water for a full hour after dark spans at least one of those hour marks.

Where the boat is at that minute is not published. The operator lists the order of the route, but no timings between stops, so this guide cannot say whether you will be near the Tower when it sparkles. The table lists the hour marks that fall inside each late sailing, counted as one hour aboard.

  • Sparkle at 21:00 and 22:00 while aboard5 min each
  • Sparkle at 22:00 while aboard5 min each
Nightfall is taken as the end of civil twilight (19:49 CEST), because the Tower's page does not define it. A sailing is counted as one hour aboard. The sparkle runs until midnight or 1 a.m., so marks after 23:00 are left out.

To see the sparkle from the Tower's side as well, the Eiffel Tower guide covers the visit, and Eiffel Tower tickets covers buying a ticket for the Tower itself.

Getting to the pier and boarding

The pier is on the Port de la Conférence at the foot of the Pont de l'Alma. The operator's terms ask you to be at the mooring point no later than 15 minutes before boarding. For the sightseeing boats it publishes the departure time and no boarding time, so plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the sailing and earlier if you still need a ticket. The terms also say the open ticket does not hold a seat on a given departure. Sightseeing cruises are generally available on the same day, subject to availability, and booking online can save queuing.

When to be there
No later than 15 minutes before boarding, per the operator's terms. For sightseeing boats the operator publishes the departure time and no boarding time, so allow at least 15 minutes before the sailing. A passenger who arrives after the boat has left has no right to a refund.
Booking

Your ticket
The open ticket does not hold a seat. If a boat is full, boarding can move to a later departure and the ticket stays valid.
After the cruise
The Eiffel Tower sparkles for five minutes at the start of each hour after dark until midnight or 1 a.m., per the Tower's own site.

Evening cruise questions

Can I take an evening Seine river cruise without dinner?

Yes. The Bateaux-Mouches sightseeing cruise runs on late sailings, and the same open ticket applies, since the operator sells no separate evening sightseeing ticket on the pages read. Dinner is a separate cruise with a booked table.

When does the last evening boat leave?

The planner applies the operator's published rule to your date.

What does the evening sailing cost?

The sightseeing ticket has a standard fare and a lower fare on the official website; the ticket table shows both with the date they were read. Dinner is priced by menu.

Where do I meet the boat for an evening sailing?

From the Port de la Conférence, at the foot of the Pont de l'Alma. The arrival section has the address and a map link.

Will the Tower sparkle during my sailing?

The Tower section above shows which hour marks fall inside each late sailing, and the Eiffel Tower guide has the full sparkle answer.

What time does the sun go down?

It depends on the date. The planner calculates sunset and the end of dusk for the Pont de l'Alma.

Is a dinner cruise worth it?

It is worth it if you want a seated meal on the water and accept a booked table and smart dress. On Oct 4, 2026 the operator listed the 18:00 early service at €90 and about 1 hour 15 minutes, while the 20:30 service lasted about 2 hours 15 minutes and started at €99. Its menus ran to €170. The open sightseeing ticket was €20, so confirm each price on its site for your date. The Bateaux-Mouches page lists the menus, boarding time and dress code.
