Sainte-Chapelle tickets and time slots

Book a 30-minute time slot on the Centre des monuments nationaux's own ticketing site, free visitors included (free first Sundays excepted). A Sainte-Chapelle ticket costs 22 euros for visitors from outside the European Economic Area and 16 euros for EEA nationals and residents, and the combined ticket with the Conciergerie costs 30 and 23 euros (official site, rates read Oct 8, 2026).

Sainte-Chapelle ticket prices for EEA and other visitors

A Sainte-Chapelle ticket has two prices. Visitors who are neither nationals nor residents of a European Economic Area (EEA) country pay 22 euros, and nationals and regular residents (over 4 months) of an EEA country pay 16 euros. The CMN's page for tourism professionals lists the EEA as the 27 countries of the European Union plus Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway. The combined ticket with the Conciergerie costs 30 and 23 euros. The practical information page gives 12 January 2026 as the date these rates apply from, and says prices change from that date.

Who enters the Sainte-Chapelle free and whether to book

Pick who is visiting to see the rate, what to bring and whether to book. A free ticket is still a booked ticket, with one exception: on the free first Sundays booking is not possible. The pages we read state no booking rule for the Heritage Days weekend.

Sources: the practical information page, the FAQ, the ticketing page and the CMN conditions for free admission. The practical information page's free list omits the Heritage Days weekend, while the ticketing page and the CMN conditions include it. The Conciergerie's own page lists its free first Sundays differently, so check it before you add the Conciergerie on a free day.

A museum pass does not replace a time slot: the FAQ says a pass holder must book a slot and show the pass at check-in.

How the 30-minute time slot works at the Sainte-Chapelle

A ticket is for one date and a 30-minute slot. With a 10 a.m. slot you should enter the monument by 10:30 at the latest. Your entry is guaranteed within 30 minutes of the selected time, and the practical information page asks you not to arrive before the time on your ticket. A second security check follows before you enter the monument. The e-ticket is printed at home or shown on a phone or tablet. Tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable, whatever the type.

The board shows dates up to one year ahead (our limit).

Our assumption: slots start every half hour from opening to last access, because the official pages give each slot as 30 minutes and publish no slot list. The booking page shows the slots that are free.

Sainte-Chapelle and Conciergerie combined ticket: when it costs less

The combined ticket costs less than the two tickets bought separately: 30 euros against 35 for visitors outside the EEA, and 23 euros against 29 for EEA visitors. The separate totals are our sums of the official prices, 22 plus 13 and 16 plus 13, because the Conciergerie's page shows one individual price of 13 euros.

Prices are the official ones on the practical information page. The Conciergerie's page shows one individual price, 13 euros, with no EEA split. Rows marked our sum are our arithmetic on those prices.

Three things change with the combined ticket. The reserved slot is for the Sainte-Chapelle only, and you can visit the Conciergerie before or after the Sainte-Chapelle slot. The Conciergerie's page gives last access at 5:30 p.m., the Sainte-Chapelle FAQ gives 5:15 p.m., and the FAQ puts a Conciergerie visit at between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes. The Conciergerie's page says it is not equipped with PRM access, which matters if anyone in your party has reduced mobility.

The official Sainte-Chapelle ticket office and look-alike sites

The CMN sells Sainte-Chapelle tickets on its own ticketing site at tickets.monuments-nationaux.fr, which titles itself Official ticketing for the National Monuments Center, and the Sainte-Chapelle's website links its ticket buttons to it. The FAQ says only orders placed on the official ticketing website can be processed by the monument's services, and a buyer from another website must address a complaint to that website.

The pages we read carry no warning about look-alike sites, so these three checks are our suggestion. The address is tickets.monuments-nationaux.fr, or you arrived through a ticket button on sainte-chapelle.fr. A single visitor's price matches the board above. The ticket carries a date and a 30-minute slot.

The CMN also sets rules for sellers. Tourism professionals must buy through the CMN's professional e-ticketing service, must resell at the same price as the monument ticket office, and get no reseller rate on the Sainte-Chapelle or the combined ticket.

Official Sainte-Chapelle ticket or a seller's package

A seller's package is a different product from the CMN ticket until its contents are confirmed. Use the table to compare what to check, and read what the extra price buys.

  • Price

    CMN
22 euros outside the EEA, 16 euros for EEA nationals and residents. The CMN tells professionals to resell at this price.
    Package
Read what the extra price buys, such as a guide or a transfer. The CMN's rule applies to resold tickets.
  • Waiting and security

    CMN
Every visitor passes the security checks. The official pages we read describe no skip-the-line ticket.
    Package
Ask what the seller means by skip the line. The seller's wording is the seller's own claim.
  • Time slot

    CMN
A 30-minute slot, with entry guaranteed within 30 minutes of the selected time.
    Package
Ask for the slot time and where you present the ticket.
  • Changes and refunds

    CMN
    Neither exchangeable nor refundable.
    Package
The seller's own terms apply. Read them before you pay.
  • Complaints

    CMN
Only orders on the official ticketing site can be processed by the monument.
    Package
Complaints about a package go to the seller, as the FAQ says for any other website.
  • Guide and audio

    CMN

    Package
Ask the language, the group size and who guides.

What to do when a Sainte-Chapelle date or time slot is full

These steps run from the official statements to our suggestions, and each says which it is.

  • Official: the monument says it is sometimes fully booked.
  • Our suggestion: try other slots on the same date and then nearby dates on the official ticketing site before any other seller.
  • Official: the FAQ names an on-site ticket office, where the CMN's partnership rate for holders of certain passes is applied, and says a twin ticket can be bought "directly from the ticket office". It also warns that without paying in advance you risk a very long wait, or not getting in, during busy periods. The pages do not say how many full-price tickets are sold at the door.
  • Official: if you hold a culture, journalist or ICOM card, book a slot anyway and choose the Other free tickets box when you book, as the FAQ describes.
  • Official: on a free first Sunday booking is not possible and access is free. The pages we read give no wait time for that day.

Booking ahead and sell-outs for Sainte-Chapelle tickets

The monument strongly recommends paying in advance because a visitor risks waiting a very long time, or not getting in, during busy periods, and it names school holidays and the Easter weekend. Its accessibility page says the monument is sometimes fully booked. The pages we read do not say how many days ahead slots open or when new ones are released, and they publish no sold-out count. The pages also say nothing about same-day availability, and they give no wait time in minutes. The official ticketing site is where to check which dates and times are open for you. Booking windows for other Paris attractions are in our guide to how far ahead to book Paris attractions.

Forum posts give release dates and sell-out times that differ from one another. We did not use them, because no official page confirms them.

Sainte-Chapelle security, bags and access for ticket holders

A ticket does not change the security rules. The Sainte-Chapelle is inside the Palais de Justice, bulky luggage is prohibited and there is no cloakroom. The security checks, the hours by date, how to get there and accessibility are on our Sainte-Chapelle visit guide.

Sainte-Chapelle ticket questions

Do I need tickets to enter the Sainte-Chapelle?

Yes, with one exception. The ticketing page says visitors must have a ticket and a time slot, and the FAQ says even the youngest visitors need a booked ticket. On the free first Sundays reservations are not possible and access is free.

How can I buy tickets for the Sainte-Chapelle?

On the CMN's official ticketing site, through the ticket buttons on sainte-chapelle.fr. The FAQ also names an on-site ticket office and strongly recommends paying in advance.

How do I skip the line at the Sainte-Chapelle?

The official pages we read describe no skip-the-line ticket. They say the security checks are very strict and take time, and that the monument strongly recommends paying in advance because of the risk of waiting very long or not getting in. Visitors with disabilities have priority access and are advised to book online. A seller's skip-the-line wording is the seller's own claim.

How much does it cost to enter the Sainte-Chapelle?

22 euros for visitors from outside the EEA and 16 euros for EEA nationals and residents. The combined ticket with the Conciergerie is 30 and 23 euros. Several categories enter free.

Can I buy Sainte-Chapelle tickets at the door?

The FAQ names an on-site ticket office, where the CMN's partnership rate for holders of certain passes is applied, and says a twin ticket can be bought "directly from the ticket office". It warns of a very long wait, or no entry, for visitors who did not pay in advance in busy periods. The pages do not say how many full-price tickets are sold at the door.

Is the Sainte-Chapelle free with a museum pass?

The FAQ says a museum pass holder must book a time slot and show the pass at check-in. The FAQ answer does not say whether the pass makes the visit free.

Can I change or refund Sainte-Chapelle tickets?

No. Tickets are neither exchangeable nor refundable, whatever the type. Only orders placed on the official ticketing website can be processed by the monument, so a complaint about a ticket bought elsewhere goes to that seller.

Is the Conciergerie included in a Sainte-Chapelle ticket?

No. It is a separate monument with its own 13 euro ticket. The combined ticket covers both, and its reserved slot is for the Sainte-Chapelle only.
