Louvre tickets and time slots
Book a time slot on the museum's own ticket office at ticket.louvre.fr, even if you enter free. A ticket is valid for one date and time, and the museum does not change or refund it unless the Louvre cancels. General admission is 22 euros for citizens and residents of the European Economic Area (EEA) and 32 euros for other visitors (rates checked Oct 5, 2026).

Where to buy Louvre tickets
Buy from the museum's own ticket office at ticket.louvre.fr. The museum warns that mirror sites exist and says not to buy tickets that claim to let you jump the queue, or from street vendors, because you may be refused entry.
The museum's own addresses
- ticket.louvre.fr: the ticket office.
- louvre.fr: the museum's site.
- contact.louvre.fr: the help center.
The ticket office repeats the warning about mirror sites on its home page.

- Under 26, citizens of the EEA: a valid photographic ID.
- Under 26, residents of the EEA: a valid photographic ID and a residency permit longer than 90 days with name and photograph.

- ICOM members: a valid membership card.
- Journalists: a national or international press card.
- Job seekers who live in the EEA: proof of entitlement dated within the last year or showing a period of validity.

How the time slot works
A ticket is valid for the chosen date and time only, and it cannot be modified, exchanged or refunded. If the Louvre cancels or modifies the service, you are entitled to a refund under the museum's terms and conditions. The help center answers the question about a ticket without a date by saying the museum's tickets are time-stamped and valid strictly on the selected date.

The museum recommends a time slot for all visitors, including those who enter free. Tickets may be bought on site when attendance is low, subject to availability, and only an advance booking guarantees entry. The pages we read give no release date for slots on this day.
- One person can buy up to six admission tickets.
- A ticket holder who arrives outside the time slot is treated like a visitor without a ticket and goes to the Pyramid access.
- The pages we read publish no other slot release schedule.
Entrances and queues for ticket holders

If your date or slot is full
This page cannot promise a slot, and the museum says only an advance booking guarantees entry. Here is what the museum says and what we suggest, in order.
1. Look again
- What to do
- Check the official ticket office for another slot that day, then another day
- Basis
- Our suggestion. First-Friday slots appear a few days ahead, per the help center
2. Try another time or day
- What to do
- The museum is open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays
- Basis
- The official hours. Availability is not stated
3. Buy on site

5. A seller's package
- What to do
- A different product; read the next section first
- Basis
- Our reading of the museum's warning
Official ticket or a seller's package
A package adds a service or a second attraction and changes what you receive. It is a different product from the museum's ticket, so this page shows no price for it beside the official ticket.
What you receive
- Official ticket
- A time-stamped ticket, valid for the chosen date and time
- Example package listings
- Whatever the seller delivers, with its own terms. Listings we read sell upgrades such as an audio guide, a guided tour or a Seine cruise
When to arrive
- Official ticket
- Your time slot, at the entrance for your ticket (see the entrances section)
- Example package listings
- The listing's own instructions: read them before you pay
Price
- Official ticket
- The rates in the costs section
- Example package listings
- Not shown: it is not the same product
Skip the line
- Official ticket
- The museum warns against tickets that claim it. Its own time-stamped ticket already gives reserved access in a dedicated line, and its entrance map calls that queue a priority queue
- Example package listings
- Labels such as pre-reserved entry and fast access are the sellers' words, and the pages we read describe no such service for sale
Cancellation
- Official ticket
- No change, exchange or refund unless the Louvre cancels
- Example package listings
- As the provider states it: read it before you pay
Audio guide and tours from the museum
The museum sells an audio guide and guided tours itself. The tour fee covers the tour only, so a visitor also needs admission unless they enter free.

- Fee
- €6
- What to know
- Up to six per person, with an ID deposit. The note beside this table covers languages and booking
Welcome to the Louvre
- Fee
- €12 or €9

A ticket also covers the Musée National Eugène-Delacroix, on the day of your visit or the next day that museum is open. Exhibitions in the Hall Napoléon need a specific time slot.
Tickets for visitors with disabilities
Admission is free for disabled visitors and the person accompanying them, with supporting documents. The museum strongly advises booking a time slot in advance to guarantee admission in case of overcrowding.
The visitor and the person accompanying them get priority access without queuing at the reception area and the entrances.
Choose the day and time
The ticket's time sets your entry. The board gives the weekly hours, and the Louvre visit guide has the check for your date, with last entry and room closures.

How much does a ticket to the Louvre cost?
22 euros for citizens and residents of the EEA and 32 euros for other visitors, with the free categories listed above. Rates checked Oct 5, 2026.
Is it better to buy Louvre tickets in advance?

ticket.louvre.fr, the museum's online ticketing service.
Are there Louvre tickets for under 26?
